Hanging closes can be hung in closets.

  • Is it necessary for me to be there in the house throughout the entire move?

One of the first tasks the driver, upon arrival, is to complete and inventory of your household goods.  You must accompany the driver throughout the house for this inventory process. Thereafter, if you or your authorized agent needs to run any errands, that you leave a contact number that the driver will be able to use if he has any questions.

  • What can I do to safeguard I get a good price for moving?

Get three written in-home estimates.  Be wary of phone or internet estimates.   Show the mover everything that will be moved, including items in attics, basements, garages, storage areas, sheds, etc.  Be sure to point out any items that are especially important to you or are of high value so your sales consultant can note them for special treatment.

  • Do I need to pay anything upfront to secure a moving date?

If you are moving locally, withing 40 miles, you will need to place an equivalent of one hour’s labor to secure a date to move.   You can cancel and receive the deposit back if you cancel within 2 business days.  No deposit is required on long distance or intrastate moves.  Full payment is expected when the truck arrives on delivery day.  Beware of carriers seeking large down payments to hold dates or to reserve service and never sign any blank forms.

  • Should you take your valuables with you when moving?

Valuables, such as cash, coins, jewelry , photographs, rare collectibles and important papers should be taken with you, or sent ahead using a traceable service , such as FedEx and United Parcel Service, UPS.

  • Are there items that can’t be moved by your household goods mover?

Professional moving companies have a list of items they cannot transport for safety and legal reasons. This often includes combustible liquids, corrosive substances, alcohol, antifreeze, explosives, flammable gases, and compressed liquids. For a complete and detailed list, be sure to ask your moving company directly.
